Online Privacy Policy
Last updated September 17, 2026
This policy describes what information is collected through this website (https://www.peachtreecityderm.com), operated by Dermatology Specialists of West Georgia, P.C. ("Peachtree City Dermatology," "we," "us"), and the choices you have about it. It applies to this website only. Information you share with us as a patient — in the office, through the Patient Portal, or through Klara secure messaging — is protected health information handled under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at our offices and governs that information, not this policy.
What this website collects
This website has no account system and no forms of its own. Information reaches us through it in three ways:
- You contact us. If you call, text, or email using the links on this site, or book through Klara, you share your name and contact details (and anything you choose to tell us) with our practice through those channels.
- Analytics cookies — only if you accept them. See "Cookies and the choice we give you" below.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data — IP address, browser type, pages requested — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Cookies and the choice we give you
When you first visit, a banner lets you "Accept All Cookies" or open Cookie Settings to allow or block the Analytics and Advertising categories individually (strictly necessary items are always active). Until you confirm a choice, and for any category you switch off, the tools below do not load — and the site works identically. Your choice is stored in your browser; change it any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.
If you accept, we use:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage statistics (pages visited, general location, device type) that help us understand how the site is used.
- Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) advertising measurement tags so we can measure whether our advertising works. We do not load these advertising tags on pages about medical conditions or treatments — pages under /conditions/, our Mohs surgery pages, and our dermatopathology page never load Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, or Meta tags, regardless of your cookie choice.
These providers receive technical identifiers (such as cookie IDs, IP address, and the pages you view where their tags run) and process them under their own privacy policies: Google, Meta.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to receive text messages from us (for example, appointment reminders or replies through our patient-messaging service), we collect your mobile number and your consent to message you. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help at any time.
Other third-party services on this site
Some pages include tools from companies we work with. They load as follows:
- Klara (patient messaging and booking) — our booking and messaging links open Klara’s secure platform; anything you send through Klara is handled as patient communication under HIPAA. Klara privacy policy.
- YouTube — videos load only after you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced (no-cookie) player.
- Google Maps — the map on our locations and contact pages.
- Google Fonts — the site's typefaces.
- ADP — the job-openings widget on our careers page; applications happen on ADP's platform under its privacy policy.
- Modernizing Medicine (APPatient / Patient Portal) and our online bill-pay — linked from this site but operated on their own secure platforms.
How we use and share information
We use website information to respond when you contact us, to operate and improve the site, and — only with your cookie consent, and never from medical-content pages — to measure our advertising. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above (who may use it solely to provide their service), when the law requires it (for example, a court order or subpoena), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our practice, our patients, or others.
Your choices and rights
- Decline or withdraw cookie consent at any time ("Cookie Preferences" in the footer).
- Ask us what contact information we hold from your website inquiries, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected].
- For rights over your medical records, see our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and the medical records page.
- Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely.
Security
This site is served entirely over HTTPS (TLS encryption) from Cloudflare's network. It stores no patient data itself — patient communication and records live in our HIPAA-covered clinical systems, which are protected by access controls, encryption, and signed confidentiality obligations for staff and vendors.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website; a parent or guardian arranges care for minor patients.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will update it here with a new "last updated" date. Meaningful changes to what we collect or share will be reflected in the cookie banner as well.
